Air Plant Care
Air plants (Tillandsia) are living creatures — strange and resilient, drawn from the damp undercanopy of ancient forests. They do not need soil to grow, only air, light, and a little care.
Light
Place your air plant in bright, indirect sunlight. A windowsill with filtered light or a well-lit room is ideal. Avoid prolonged direct sun, which may scorch its leaves.
Water
Submerge your air plant in room-temperature water for 20–30 minutes once a week. After soaking, gently shake off excess water and let it dry upside down in a well-ventilated space to prevent rot.
In dry climates or during hot spells, mist your plant once or twice between soakings.
Air
Good air circulation is essential — these plants thrive on it. Avoid sealing them inside enclosed glass containers without ventilation.
Placement
Display in a cup, shell, crystal nest, or any other vessel that calls to your aesthetic — just ensure the plant can breathe freely and dry completely after watering.
A Final Note
Each air plant is its own small wonder. With a little attention, it will reward you with lasting beauty and quiet companionship.
